Arnhem Open Air Museum, Netherlands

Arnhem Openlucht Museum is a museum of traditional buildings just north of Arnhem. It is organised as a series of settlements surrounding a central lake and linked by a tramway, so that you can either walk round following the well signed footpaths or hop on and off the tram. There are clear trilingual information boards at each site.

Unlike the majority of English barns, the Dutch ones usually have an entrance at the gable end and most of them have the living quarters and storage area under one roof. However you can see a clear family resemblance between these and barns in the areas where the Anglo-Saxons settled in England.
