Leigh Court Barn, Worcestershire

The Great barn at Leigh Court in Worcestershire, was built for Pershore Abbey, probably about 1325. It is a huge cruck-frame structure with ten bays. Each cruck is made from a single oak tree rather than each pair being made from an oak sawn down the middle. It is the largest cruck-frame building in England.

The walls are timber frame on a sandstone plinth. The in-fill is mostly brick with some wattle-and-daub. There are two gabled porches on the south-east wall and two double doors opposite them. It has a clay-tiled, half-hipped roof.
