GAZATTEER

I found Singleton Barn by searching on the web, but it is sometimes referred to as the ’barn at Great Chart’. It is quite difficult to find being in the unlikely setting of a suburban shopping centre. However it is well worth seeking out because it is a beautiful conversion into a Public House and Restaurant. The conversion is not at all tacky or olde worlde kitsch. The full height of the nave has been kept for about half of the length with an upstairs being inserted into the other half, but you still have a good view down the length of the barn with the bar tucked into one of the aisles.
