The great barn at Place Farm, Tisbury is nearly 200 feet long. It is a wonderful structure with a single, central midstrey and wagon porch, with a supplementary door in each half. It has limestone walls with a thatched roof. It is not open to the public although you can park in the large car park at the back and walk all round the outside. I was fortunate to be given permission to view inside. It is quite magnificent with very high triple tie beams bracing the raised cruck roof timbers. Unfortunately I am not able to put any photos of the interior into the photo album, but the outside is still worth seeing.
