Craven Arms Cruck Barn

The Craven Arms is a pub in Wharfdale, Yorkshire. In 2006 the owner built a crucvk barn next to the pub. The roof is seven metres high and the heather thatch and stone were sourced locally. The bent oak trees were sourced from the Boulton Abbey and Broughton Hall estates. They were split and opened out to form the distinctive cruck blades.

Although a chimney and fire place are not the normal features of a barn they do make the interior of this large space surprisingly cosy.
