Sproughton Tithe Barn, near Ipswich in Suffolk, was built in the late sixteenth or early seventeenth century. It it is an eight bay, post & truss barn with two threshing floors. Extensions have been built between the two entrance wagon porches on the farmyard side of the barn. The rear of the barn faces onto the street. It was given to the parish council in 1978 and since then, through various grants and the work of the community it has been repaired and restored and is now in use as a community venue.

I was not able to get inside on our first visit, but they were holding a Beer Festival a few weeks later, so we returned and I was able to photograph the interior. They were a bit surprised when I told them I was there for the barn not the beer!
