Barns at Church Farm, Tunstead

On our way to visit the medieval church of St. Mary the Virgin at Tunstead in Norfolk, we spotted the thatched roof of a large barn.

I followed the signs to Reception and the Managing Director of Place UK came out and took me over to the barn. It is a large thatched barn built of Norfolk brick with two midstreys.

It is now used as the recreation and social centre for the company. A ceiling has been inserted at eaves level, but you can still see the struts and braces supporting the tie beams, which are similar to those in other barns in the area.
