For me, the key feature of the threshing barn is the large, open, enclosed space and the impressive timber roof. Many domestic barn conversions lose this feature by inserting internal floors and dividing walls.
However some barns have been converted into cafes, pubs or restaurants. High roofs, old timber and good food make for a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
This category is organised by region. Sometimes the restaurant/tea room is not in the barn itself but in associated outbuildings, but they usually make for an interesting visit. Please check the websites for opening times.
