Humphrey’s Barn is the oldest building at Amberley Museum & Heritage Centre near Arundel in West Sussex. It was built about 1790 and was originally part of a farm, on the site of the museum, worked by a man called Henry Humphrey.
It is a five bay, timber-framed, threshing barn and originally had a thatched roof. It is unaisled with raked struts supporting the side purlins. Diagonal braces reinforce the walls and trusses. It was restored in 2007 and now serves as a classroom for children visiting the site.
