Donington le Heath Manor

Donington le Heath Manor is a small manor house, originally built at the end of the thirteenth century. The house was ‘modernised’ in 1618. It is now a museum run by Leicestershire County Council.

The manor barn is now the tea room. The roof trusses have been replaced, but the thick stone walls look original. The original roof timbers would have been similar to the ones in the manor house (right).

The Manor is open Thursday to Sunday & Bank Holidays from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm. The barn is also available to hire. See their website for opening times and a full history of the manor.
